This
home we live in -- this place I spend my days teaching and crying and laughing and praying and dreaming and hoping and loving and entertaining -- this place has
soothing little spots which seem to
reach out to me and
draw me close. Places like my kitchen window ...
... where I bring a bit of the outdoors in. Visually. And literally. I think the "look" of the window soothes me because the "do" of the window soothes me: those stolen moments of time, when I slip away into the garden to snip the cuttings and then tenderly arrange them, those moments are sweet and nourishing ... and I feel the "doing" of it anew with every look.
The zinnias (oh, perfect cutting flowers) delight me ...

... with their reds, yellows, oranges, pinks and fuschias. Have you ever noticed the little yellow stamen at their center. Delicate, detailed. I love them.
I also love the rosemary, earthy and fragrant. The aroma lingers.

The containers are simple, undistracting -- a sturdy sqaurish bottle which once housed who knows what (olive oil, maybe), and simple antique medicine bottles. But the large one is adorned with a tag, beautifully scripted (not by me), which reminds -- twice over --
Celebrate.
Celebrate.
And so celebrate, I do. Life. Love. Redemption.
Even kitchen windows.

How interesting. Your kitchen window is one of my favorite places, too. Love the pictures.
I feel inspired. I think I'll go cut some rosemary.
Can I come visit your home? Mine seems to bring me chaos. I'll also visit you too. : )
Don't be mistaken -- mine's chaotic too. I think that's part of what makes the happy places so happy.
So come. Anytime. My house and I will enjoy having you.
Loooove seeing the peek into your world. Your flowers are gorgeous. Something about the simple glass containers with the beautiful, intricate pieces of nature in it= something I totally love.
I love the tag you have hanging from the bottle too!
I'm coming over right now! What a moment of serenity you just gave me :)
